Very little of the gameplay is reflected by the ads. 99% of what you do on this game is basically timer management with buildings, and pretty much every single aspect of the game including the events and cash grab pop-ups is timegated. I am sure that anyone who sees the ads of going side to side shooting the monsters expects to be doing that most of the time, since that would be actually entertaining. I felt the FOMO and cut it off after a few days, and will not be reinstalling this game.
Played this game for 5 years. Unless you have a fortune to spend, don't bother downloading. It is strictly a pay to win game. The ads that you see are for side events. The main part of the game just building things and waiting for them to finish. If for some reason you need to reach customer service, don't expect a response. Every year the game becomes more and more expensive. I finally got sick of all the pay walls, quit and deleted the game. Smartest move I have made in 5 years.
Definitely do not recommend this game for new players. This game requires too much time to be invested. It is essentially a base-building game with timers that start lasting for days once you reach higher levels. Then while you wait for the various timers in the game, you get raided by higher level players unless you pay in-game currency(gems) to prevent it. DON'T START PLAYING THIS GAME!
I've been playing this game for a month now and leveled up my keep to 23. I had all my research for my military maxed out. I figure I better link my account it my Google account so I can get the extra diamonds by doing so. This game erased everything. Everything gone. I spent around $20 on purchases for it. I'm flabbergasted. Devastated is more like it. this is horrible. What a waste :(
ads lie about what the game is. even though you can do what is in the ads you are forced to spend obscene amounts of time to progress. if you dont spend money or join an alliance then you can't complete quests. I just wanted a solo player game that is the only thing the ads show. Basically they lie to get you in. terrible way to get players if you have to start off lying
I have played this game for 6 years now. I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on my account. here lately the game has become so greedy that you must be spending at least 1000 dollars a month to even continue growing. they will say that if you are patient you can earn the items slowly but there are items that you cannot and will not obtain without spending literally 5k within a single 11 day event. you have to spend a fortune to even play at all anymore.
They steal money from players, and allow other players to do the same. Some things in this game cost 50 thousand dollars to acquire. There are achievements in this game that are needed to progress and get important items for your keep that cost tens of thousands of dollars to be able to qualify. There are very important additions to your keep that show up once and never come back, and cost hundreds of dollars. They even allow 3rd party programs and buying if you spend enough.
Honestly, it's not a bad game. I've been looking for a game like this one for a while now. If you came here looking for a simple game where you drag around your character, shooting enemies and multiplying your allies or upgrading your weapons, don't install this game. To be fair, it has some of that, but think of it as more of a mini game than the main gameplay. The main gameplay is more of a mideaval castle strategy game. I really like the game, but there is a serious false advertising problem.
This game is very fun. beware tho fun comes at a price here. The reason I one star and suggest staying away from this game is that in-game errors happen, but the customer service for the game will not fix any issues even when you take screenshots that prove the error happened they still will not credit you your money or what you paid for. Beware!!

I downloaded this game a month or 2 ago after seeing an ad on YouTube. It ended up being different than I 1st thought that it was going to be. They make it look like this is the game, it's not. Evony is a town building game where you fight other players towns, most of the time youre just looking at timers. It's designed to cost you 100s of dollars to be competitive. Contrary to the dev response. There is more than one way, first is to constantly pump in money, the second is to become a farm for those that spend money. You can not progress or survive without spending money.
I'm almost certain everyone here came for the same reason (The side-scrolling shooter). They say, "if you keep playing, it's there". Mind you, that's the only part they show in the ad. Why? Eye-catching. It's deceptive. Use a selling point, hold it til you accrue X amount of $ from one player, and you get to use it sparingly. Yaaay!! No! This is a predatory, leeching, promise holding, digital heartbreaker. I had faith in this studio, too... just like the others. Smh
Just so everyone knows, don't trust the ads or the pix for the description of the game! There is no dodge and shoot or challenge to the end thing and the puzzles don't resemble anything like the one shown! It is a War game! It does have puzzles, but this is a PVP game!!! 😂🤣😂 Edit: Upgrading your keep does NOT unlock the dodge and shoot or challenge to the end! Stop lying to people, devs! It isn't funny nor cute! 🤦🏼♀️🙄
I played this game for two years, the ad they show will never happen. They just want you to keep playing so that eventually they can say "Hey you don't have enough coins so you have to buy them or wait 2 days for them to restock." I was an avid player, played hard, made friends and we all ditched the game after seeing the SAME ad for the game for a different game and same name. it's redundant.
Gameplay does not match advertisements found within in-game ads for other game apps. Ads display a side-to-side zombie shooter as the main content. This shooter turns out to be a measley mini-game within a timer-management app. App is designed to keep you logged in as long as possible with little to no progress. Totally pay to win. I see the ignored review and "assurance" you thought would work, posted 10/10/24. A box of rocks had better customer service than you and your department.
this game IS NOT like the ads. it constantly changes to have a mini game that matches the gimmick at the time of release. it use to be solving room puzzles, now it's the shooting obstacles and multipliers. but the majority of the game is resource management and getting raided by players in bigger guilds or you doing the same to others while you wait and wait and wait for resources. I'm pretty tired of these lying ads because I know how this game actually operates.
Geared towards spending far too much. Unless you plan on spending thousands you can't compete with the heavy coiners. There is no such thing as luck either. You either spend tons of money or you can pretty much not count on getting anything good. Pay at your own risk. Other than that the game is ok and you can meet some great people. If the game glitches and you lose out on items they use the excuse "need screen shots before and after". Lol. who takes screen shots on everything they do?
What you see in their advertisement is in the game, but it is not the main game. It is a little side quest that they gate keep. As for their main game, it is a basic; start w/ castle, build army, protect from other players(castle shield), attack other players, get resources, etc... If you play, be sure it's not in a dead server. ie: more than 2 big guilds. The game is ok. I wanted to play more of the game advertised.
For casual players it's good in the early stages. Once your new time is up be prepared to keep your shield up as much as possible unless you like being farmed. This includes clan members. They won't hesitate to boot you out and farm you for materials and quest completions. If you enjoy P2W games then this is for you. If not, save yourself a headache and find a different game. Also, the puzzles in the adds are limited and have to be unlocked. Don't believe their hype.
The commercials lie just like every other game. All I want is the puzzles. That's it. Nothing else. I don't want to build farms in my puzzle game. And the puzzles have extra mechanics that have nothing to do with what we see in the commercials. Stop lying in your commercials!!! The game is not "Exactly like this". It's barely even similar. Edit: Developer responded with nonsense. It's irrelevant that the commercial content is in there. There is also very unfun content that was not advertised.
